Nokturne: Blue Topaz Kobalt: What is Blue Topaz? It was requested within the Pyramid that a Blue Musk be offered as a Nokturne. We have been searching all over the world for the perfect single note of Blue Topaz and we found a few but none stood up to the Nokturne name until one day it had occurred to me the Blue Musk, that became a new nameBlue Topaz, needed a little something special within it. So we began pouring, ever so slowly, Kobalt (Vanilla Orchid) into Blue Topaz and what was created was a beautiful symmetry of sensual scent. Why Blue Topaz? One day when testing this with Jacek, I looked down at the white gold ring I wear with a blue topaz on it and Jacek said, “yes, that would be a nice name for it”. Both masculine and feminine and perfect for a Nokturne Duality. Bastet and I have worn this and both of us talked about the sense of harmony and tranquility and how this perfume lifts the spirit, body and mind. Will there be a future Blue Topaz single note? Possibly…but until then…Kobalt is the perfect note for this new Nokturne Duality!
In bottle: Spicy vanilla flower
Wet on skin: A bit of a floral creaminess has emerged. Hmmm….something has gone *slightly* mothball on me…..it’s the spiciness mingling with something.
Dry on skin: Ok, the mothball has given way to a more creamy floral. It really smells like carnation to me which I really like but it rarely works with my chemistry.
Verdict: After this dries down it’s really pretty on me and I’m glad I got a bottle.

Karkade Summer Hessonite: Hibiscus Leaf of Aswan, Sugar Resin, Aged Nokturne:Hessonite (Alexandrian Patchouli, organic), with Egyptian and Indian Black Tea.
In bottle: Woodsy! Definitely some patchouli.
Wet on skin:
The patchouli softens a little bit and the tea comes to the front. As it settles I can pick up on the sugar resin and definitely the hibiscus leaf.
Dry on skin: Once it’s dried down there’s a wonderful spiciness that comes out. But it’s not a craft store kind of spice…..more like a spicy sugar and I think it’s the sugar resin. What ever it is, it’s wonderful! I imagine a patchouli scented toasted sugar cube.
Verdict: I’ve never been overly fond of tea scents but the Karkade scents have been wonderful so far. This is a wonderful sexy and sophisticated patchouli scent for the patch lovers out there!

Haunted Ambre Lab: This is a preview Halloweenie scent! Yay! Nokturne:Hessonite, Rock Rose Resin, White Patchouli, Black Ginger, White Cardamom, Gold sap of Frankincense, Wood of Myrrh, Indian Cypriol, Black Cedar, Nutmeg, Black Peppercorn and N3 Musk.
In bottle: Woodsy and slightly masculine.
Wet on skin: Very woody and I can definitely pick up the musk and patchouli. It’s pretty strong at this point and just a little on the sharp side.
Dry on skin: So the woody component has settled down and the cardamom has come out along with the black peppercorn. As it dries down something has added a really gorgeous creaminess that I’m totally digging. The rock rose resin is just lingering very softly in the background.
Verdict: Super duper gorgeous and I’m really glad I bought a bottle of this. If this is an example of what Halloween is to bring then I’m excited!
